Things to Do in the Vicinity of the Hotel Ambet

Our hotel is situated at an altitude of 1,400 m a.s.l. at the foot of the Gitschberg Jochtal ski and holiday area. The nearby cableway quickly takes visitors up to higher altitudes for hikes and excursions in the magnificent mountains.

With its relaxed atmosphere, the Gitschberg Jochtal ski area is ideally suited both to beginners on skis as well as the more experienced. Along the 50 km well maintained ski trails, winter sports enthusiasts are spoilt for choice. A network of ski trails connects the Gitschberg summit to the Meransen plateau and carving enthusiasts can let themselves go on the Valler Jöchl. In summer, Meransen attracts numerous visitors keen on mountain hiking. Many trails start right in front of our hotel, winding their way through magnificent forests and meadows such as those found in the picturesque Altfasstal Valley. From Vals you can easily arrive at the picturesque Fane Alm pasture at an altitude of 1,739 m a.s.l.. More experienced mountaineers would probably be tempted to take on the summits of the Gitschberg and the Geishorn. To save on time and effort the cable car is a viable alternative. The Gitschberg-Jochtal holiday area is also a haven for mountain biking and paragliding fans.
